The struggle to survive in late 18th century in France



The people of France rise from the 23 million in 1715 to 28 million in 1789. The prices of bread which was the staple diet are rises extremely, and poor peasant and workers having fixed wages by there owners. But wages did not keep pace with the rise in prices. The gap between poor and richer widened. The thing become more worst whenever drought or hail reduced the harvest. This led to a subsidence crisis, something that occurred frequently in France during the old regime.
