From the very beginning women were active participation in the events which brought aboust so many important changes in French society. They hoped that their involvement would pressurise the revolutionary government to introduce measure to improve their lives. Most women of third estate had worked as seamstress or laundresses, sold flowers, fruits and vegetables at the market, or were employed as domestic servants in the houses of prosperous people. Most women did not have access to education or job training. Only daughters of nobles or wealthier members of the third estate could study at a convent, after which their families arranged a marriage for them.working women's had also to care for their families, that is , cook, featch water, queue up for bread and look after the children. Their wages were lower than those of men.

In order to discuss and voice their interest women started their own political club and newspaper. About sixty women club came up for revolution. The society of revolutionary my and republic women was the most famous in all. One of them main demand was women were enjoy same political rights as men enjoys. Women were disappointed that the constitution of 1791 reduced them to passive citizens. They demand right to vote , to be elected assembly and to hold political office. They only they support new government.

The revolutionary government introduced new law to improve women lives. Together the creation of school, all girls were compulsory to go school. Now, father were not force to marriage against their will. Marriage was made into a contract entered into freely and registered under civil law. Divorce was made legal for both men and women. Women could now train for jobs, could became artists or rum small business.

Women struggle for equal political rights, however, countinued. In the reign of terror, the new government issued law for women to closed their clubs and banning their political activities many of them arrested and a number of them executed.
